Lady in Burgundy

After this past weekend when it was 30 degrees again, I was convinced that winter definitely was not coming. However when I woke up this morning I was in for a shock as it was absolutely freezing and in the single digits - which was really the last thing I was expecting! So you can imagine how excited I was to finally, reach for this fabulous coat. This coat was another one of those ebay epiphanies I have talked about before - something that was sold out every where for a long time, that suddenly appeared out of the blue when I was least expecting it, causing me to get a little over excited and freak out. I promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up about it being real, and that I would probably soon get a message from the seller telling me that it had actually sold out (this has happened to me many times before...) so when it arrived I was damn near ecstatic.

When it comes to rating how warm a coat is, I am no expert to be honest, but I was definitely pretty cold this morning waiting for the train. So while the coat on its own isn't terribly warm (I was wearing a rayon dress underneath though) I'm sure it would be a lot better if worn with a few layers underneath, rather than just a dress. That said, this is probably one of the most glamorous items of clothing I own and I do feel pretty fabulous wearing it out!

Much as I was just starting to enjoy winter and blogging cold weather appropriate outfits, I am off to Moscow on Saturday morning so once I get there I will be blogging summer outfits all over again. A bit crazy, but this is just pretty typical for me! I will be visiting my family for two months and then I will be back at the end of July where it will be back to dressing for winter again...so I apologize in advance for how erratic things are about to become!

  3. Stunning coat - and shoes, my dear. I love how the rich, elegant ruby red sings with your blonde locks. Though it might not be the absolute most roasty-toasty coast ever, it certainly is amongst the most gorgeous!

  8. My Hell Bunny coat isn't the warmest either, but it is pretty! This one is much more glam - I love coats with faux fur :) I would be glad to wake up to a day where I didn't have to wear a coat - considering it's summer here! I think you've got our weather... x

  13. You should visit me in Finland! There's a train from Moscow to Helsinki - I don't think it's actually that expensive! ;)

The coat is lovely, I've been searching for a similar one for ages. Too bad that the Hell Bunny isn't woollen, polyester isn't warm enough for the Finnish winter! Anyways, it's summer, so no need for a coat in a while. Even though it ACTUALLY snowed last June! That hardly ever happens...

  14. Fabulous coat! It makes such a difference to the loose, dark coloured frumpy coats that most people wear during winter. I bet it is much easier to brave the cold when your coat is excessively fabulous!

  15. That's a stunner of a coat! I've just bought one in a very similar colour with faux fur trim, but in a straight style rather than flared, it was a car boot sale bargain!
