Put a Bow on It!

Dress - Trashy Diva by Candice Gwinn
That's right - I took two gingham dresses with me! For some reason, being in the country side makes me want to wear gingham. Maybe it's because gingham is so rustic and wholesome? Before I left I mentioned that I took some new dresses and old dresses too, so some of you might be already familiar with this one. Earlier this year in summer (well, my first summer since technically I've had summer twice this year!) when it was very hot I wore this dress without the bow. The bow is one of my favorite things about this dress, but I love how it looks either way!

This week I have spent quite a lot of time picking berries: wild strawberries, blue berries and today I noticed that the raspberries have started to ripen. When we took these photos this vintage-looking airplane was circling overhead, and I was quite surprised to see an older model like this in the sky! I showed these photos to my grandpa, who worked as an air crash investigator in the 50s and 60s, and he was able to identify the plane as an Antonov An-2. This particular model originated in the USSR in 1947 and was affectionately nicknamed "Annushka" - which is exactly what my grandpa calls me!

  2. I love that story! Aren't grandpa's the best? You look beautiful! I am pretty obsessed with gingham myself this summer, and have been searching for the perfect gingham dress. Trashy Diva's Hopscotch is in the lead! ;)
Your trip sounds wonderful! Thank you for posting such lovely pictures.

  5. You do right-gingham is probably one of my favourite patterns, it's just so pretty :) This dress is perfection, the shape is perfect and I love the subtle detail of the bow. Berry picking in the sunshine is the best!

  7. Annushka...That's so so lovely. I am loving this Gingham on you...I don't own enough Gingham. The dress I got for my birthday was gingham but had to be returned as it was too big...so sad! I'm hunting down a yellow gingham for my collection and you've inspired me.

Picking berries I really need to do sometime! I made Jam for the very first time the other day which I loved!

Hoping you are having a fabulous Holiday! xxxx

  13. That is one gorgeous dress, you look stunning my dear. Great minds think alike as I'm in gingham too :) How lovely to see the first berries appearing - our wild strawberries were delayed but now coming out with a vengeance, don't you love this berry picking time of year.

  14. Gorgeous dress! I lovvvve Trashy Diva dresses.

That person is quite the daredevil to fly such an old plane.

Gingham is my favorite print, especially in pink and white. I love the bow :)

  16. Oh you're in Russia now - that means I haven't dropped in here in quite some time, sorry about that lovely ;)
As usual you look totally "vintage queen chic" beautiful to say the least! I love gingham too, it's the perfect print for outfit shootings with a rural backdrop like the one in your pics! And the bow is the cherry on top! So cute!

  17. I love the instantly eye-catching impact that both the bold plaid and the darling, generously sized bow impart to this wonderful frock.

Ooohh, all of those berries sounds heavenly and remind me of picking raspberries and strawberries from my grandparent's backyard as a youngster (some of which my grandma would, for a special treat from time-to-time, whip up into the most scrumptious English trifle I've ever sunk my teeth into :) ).

Wishing you a gorgeous, fun filled July, dear gal!
